BOTOX
BOTOX Cosmetic relaxes lines in your face to give you a more rested, relaxed and youthful appearance. It is a simple, 10 minute, non-surgical procedure; the discomfort is minimal and brief. The physician injects the Botox directly into muscles that cause the wrinkles. The most common areas treated are the frown lines (“the 11’s”), the crow’s feet around the eyes, the horizontal forehead lines, and the lines around the mouth. We also offer the “Nefertiti Lift,” which sharpens the jawline and improves the appearance of the neck. There is no recovery time. Within 2 to 7 days, you will see a dramatic reduction in wrinkling. Botox can last up to five months.
We also use Botox to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) under the arms or of the palms or soles.
FILLERS (Contouring and Volumizing)
Avenues Dermatology proudly offers the Juvederm line of facial fillers including Ultra, Ultra Plus, Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma at their office. These injectable fillers are all hyaluronic acid gels that closely resemble the body’s own hyaluronic acid, which is essential to firm youthful skin. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin decreases, leading to the characteristic signs of aging. Dr. Phieffer will inject the fillers at designated areas in the patient’s face to replace lost hyaluronic acid to soften the signs of aging and enhance features.
The various filler options differ in their thickness and the amount of time they last (varying from 1-2 years). Dr. Phieffer will help determine which filler you should have in which area of your face. The most common areas treated are the “parentheses“ around the mouth, the marionette lines, under the eyes, the lips and the apples of the cheeks. Filler in the lips can be performed either to rejuvenate the lips by redefining the lip borders, or to “plump“ the lips.
Juvederm Voluma is the newest filler which is used to add volume back to the apples of the cheeks, creating a much more youthful appearance in the most natural way. The results last 2 years.
CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels have been used for centuries to enhance and rejuvenate the skin. They decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, enlarged pores and acne scars. Chemical peels help improve clarity, color and overall texture of the skin. The peels give the skin a fresh, radiant and youthful glow. The peel exfoliates the superficial layers of the skin and stimulate underlying collagen regeneration.
The Vi Peel is a medium depth peel which is virtually painless; however, the skin will peel extensively for an entire week, leaving you with more radiant skin for months to come.
DERMAPEN MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy, involves using super-fine needles to create tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural ability to heal itself, and increases the production of new collagen and elastin. By doing so, microneedling helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, volumizes and re-firms the skin. Other commonly treated conditions for the Dermapen include: acne scarring, keloid scars, evening out skin pigment, and rejuvenating for brighter and more youthful looking skin.
FACIAL VEIN REMOVAL and COSMETIC MOLE REMOVAL are also performed daily.
